Farid Mansurov, a compassionate resident of Baku, has dedicated his life to rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need. Near the city, Farid has created a unique shelter specifically for dogs with disabilities or injuries. He transformed his 20-acre country house into a sanctuary known as “Kind World.”
The first resident of “Kind World” was a dog that had lost a leg in a car accident. The second was a small, stray puppy that Farid saved from the harsh realities of hunger and cold.
Over time, Farid’s shelter has grown, and today it is home to 350 dogs, each with its own story of survival.
Farid has set clear criteria for the dogs that “Kind World” takes in. The shelter focuses on rescuing disabled, injured, or sick dogs—those that have faced unimaginable hardships.
But it’s not just physical injuries that Farid addresses; his shelter also cares for dogs with deep psychological wounds. Among them are two German shepherds that Farid bought from a neglectful owner. These dogs had lived in appalling conditions, confined to short chains no longer than half a meter.
Farid’s mission extends beyond just healing the dogs’ physical ailments. He is deeply committed to restoring their trust in humans,
something that many of these dogs have lost due to past traumas. He believes that fostering compassion in people towards animals is crucial. Farid often reflects on how some parents inadvertently teach their children to disrespect animals, not realizing the long-term consequences. He emphasizes that kindness towards animals should be a fundamental value taught from a young age, as it shapes how we treat all living beings around us.
“Kind World” is not just a shelter; it is a place of hope. Anyone who wishes to adopt one of the dogs is welcome to do so, with the only condition being that they provide love and proper care to their new furry friend. Through his selfless work, Farid Mansurov is giving these dogs a second chance at happiness and showing the world the profound impact of compassion.
