Endearing Young Cat Ready for a Human Family After Life on the Streets

Introducing Encelia, a gentle 1-year-old cat who arrived at Southern Arizona Cat Rescue from a cat colony with her five newborns during the bustling kitten season this past spring. After admirably fulfilling her role as a mother, she’s now eager to embrace a leisurely life as a cherished indoor cat.

Initially reserved due to her background in a colony, Encelia may appear timid and shy with newcomers. However, once she warms up to someone, she becomes friendly, vocal, and shows a keen interest in human interaction. She revels in receiving head scratches, ear massages, and gentle pets. Encelia has demonstrated that she gets along well with adults and teenagers in a tranquil household setting. While she prefers not to be picked up or held, with patience and consistency from a caring individual, she might just become a cat who enjoys sitting on laps or cuddling by your side.

To date, Encelia’s experience with other animals has been limited to her recent maternal responsibilities. She coexisted peacefully with other cats in her colony, but her interactions with dogs remain unknown. It’s important to allow her to adjust to new companions at her own pace, emphasizing patience as she becomes accustomed to her new environment.

As for her health and readiness for adoption, Encelia is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is also house-trained and has no special needs. If you’re interested in giving this lovely feline the forever home she deserves, or if you know someone who might be, please complete an adoption application on the SACatRescue website.

For any inquiries, contact SACatRescue at (520) 200-1643 or via email at adoption@sacatrescue.org. All cats under the care of SACatRescue are fostered until they can be matched with suitable adopters. Help spread the word about Encelia to increase her chances of finding a loving home soon.
