Even in the bleakest of situations, beauty can emerge—just like the story of a stunning pair of Siamese brothers. These two cats, Mocha and Latte, were rescued at what may have been the darkest moments of their lives. Cats are known for their resilience, and Mocha and Latte were no exception, having survived 10 days after their owner passed away.
A Tragic Beginning
What made their situation even worse was that these beautiful lynx point brothers were victims of a terrible hoarding situation. When they were found, they were nothing more than little furry bags of bones.
The Deep Bond Between Brothers
The compassionate team at Project M.E.O.W. (Make Every One Wanted) quickly spread the word that these friendly 11-year-old brothers urgently needed a foster home. Already neutered, the non-profit organization ensured they were thoroughly vetted and, despite their ordeal, found to be in reasonably good health. Now, all they needed were some nutritious meals to regain their strength.
“They are very skinny from their ordeal, so they’ve been enrolled in the patented and award-winning Project MEOW cat fattening™ program,” noted Project MEOW’s social media team.
Though the term “fattening program” may sound fancy, it’s just a playful way of saying their fosters ensure the cats are well-fed with nutritious food. For Mocha and Latte, this made a huge difference, and they quickly grew to love all the delicious meals.
Ready for a Foster Home
Soon, the team announced that the “friendly mini-tigers” were ready for fostering. Initially, they recommended that Mocha and Latte (with Latte being extra adorable due to his very crossed eyes) be placed in a home with no other pets. However, it turned out that the brothers just needed some time to adjust to their new foster home. After settling in, they were introduced to the other cats in the house and got along splendidly.
There was plenty of fun (and catnip) to be had.
The Wait for a Forever Home
These two brothers are undeniably cute, but after a while, Mocha seemed to grow impatient with the adoption process. According to the Project MEOW team, he had this to “say” on Facebook:
“Look hoomans, we have to have a discussion. My brother Latte and I are Certified Good Boys, and somehow we’re still with a PM foster mom. Don’t get me wrong—she’s really nice—but we want to have a home of our own again. 2021 has been a…not-so-great year so far, what with our hooman passing away and it taking a while for us to be found. It’s true that Latte and I were bags of bones when Project MEOW rescued us, but we’ve been on the patented and award-winning Cat Fattening and Refurbishment Plan™ and our floof-to-cat ratios have dramatically improved, we swear!”
A Happy Ending
Fortunately, the brothers’ patience paid off, and they finally found the loving home they were hoping for. No more worries about being hungry or neglected for these two beautiful brothers. Now, they can stretch out, relax, and enjoy the comfort they’ve always deserved.
“The sweet Siamese brothers known as Mocha & Latte have been adopted! 🎉 Their lives were turned upside down when their person passed away. But thanks to the diligence of several kind people, they were placed in a foster home and given lots of TLC until they found their new forever home.”
