These lovable little owls can’t seem to get enough of each other as they were spotted snuggling together on a tree branch. The owlets, captured near their burrow in northern Israel, fluffed each other’s feathers in an adorable display of affection.

Photographer Vladimir Kogan, an Israeli native, spent weeks patiently waiting to capture the perfect shot of these young owls. His dedication paid off when he snapped these heartwarming images of the owlets sharing what looked like the cutest peck on the cheek ahead of Valentine’s Day.

A Peck on the Cheek

These two owls shared an affectionate moment, lovingly preening each other on a branch near their nest. One owl looked as though it was about to float away in pure bliss as the other gave it a gentle “kiss” on the cheek.

The Photographer’s Dedication

Mr. Kogan, 44, revealed that it took time for the owlets to get used to his presence. He spent weeks observing them in the hot sun in a remote area of Beit She’an, Israel. Eventually, the young owls became so comfortable around him that they allowed him to come close enough to capture these stunning images.

“There were seven fledglings altogether, but these two never seemed to leave each other’s side,” said Mr. Kogan. “After spending weeks watching the birds, you really get to know each of their personalities, and these two were especially affectionate.”

Magic Moments

Mr. Kogan’s patience and persistence paid off. He managed to get great shots after positioning himself at a good vantage point and placing a tree branch where he thought the owls might land. “Luckily, I was rewarded with some great shots,” he said. “The young owls got used to my hide and simply went about their business.”

The owlets spent nearly ten minutes preening and pecking at each other’s feathers, giving Mr. Kogan the opportunity to capture some truly magical moments.

A Bond to Remember

These affectionate young owls stole Mr. Kogan’s heart during his time observing them. Though it wasn’t long before the fledglings left their nest, the photographer felt fortunate to have witnessed such tender interactions.

These adorable images, showcasing the bond between the owlets, serve as a reminder of the beauty and charm of the natural world.
