Rescued Tuxie Kitten Never Purred Until He Met a Young Lady and ‘Melted Into Her’

Blog

A family welcomed a gorgeous rescued tuxedo cat named Mollymauk Morrison after he chose his adopter in Des Moines, Washington. His name is a meaningful tribute, as you’ll discover.

When LeAnne and her daughter Ally visited the kitten’s foster home, Mollymauk instantly knew that the young lady was his favorite human. Remarkably, he had never purred much before, but soon after meeting Ally, he “melted into her” and purred away.

If melting into someone isn’t a good sign, what is?

A Heartwarming Bond Forms “This boy and his brother were found abandoned at about 6 weeks old and spent the last few weeks in their foster home, being socialized, de-spiced, and acclimated to the sweet indoor life. We met him about a week and a half ago, and he immediately chose my daughter as his own. He melted into her and even gave her his stamp of ownership: his first purr since being rescued 🖤. We walked out of there with new paw prints on our hearts, and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” shared LeAnne.

Mollymauk Morrison’s Name is a Tribute Ally chose the name Mollymauk from her favorite fantasy character, while LeAnne added “Morrison” as a tribute to the late beloved rescuer Ashley Morrison, known as the “Youngest Old Cat Lady.”

A Connection to the Past A few years ago, Morrison rescued the family’s resident tuxedo cat, Dagger (formerly Cash), along with his sister Mercedes (formerly Banksy) and their feral mother. Ashley found the frightened cats in a bank parking lot in 2021, and after giving them love and care, the kittens found homes while their mother returned to outdoor life.

Dagger still cherishes the toy Ashley sent home with him.

“Ashley’s memory is now a part of our family through Dagger. Thank you for saving him; your memory will forever live on with us 🖤,”

shared LeAnne.

It’s a beautiful tribute to name Dagger’s new friend after Ashley.

Mollymauk Finds His Forever Home Rescued by South Sound Snip & Tip in Des Moines, WA, Mollymauk quickly bonded with Dagger, giving their older tuxie sister, Lucy, a much-needed break from Dagger’s playful antics. Now, with three tuxedo cats in the house, the family couldn’t be happier!

Dagger and Molly became fast friends, with Molly being the rowdy playmate Dagger had always longed for. The family also noticed that Molly’s presence reminded them of their beloved kitty, Edmund, who had crossed the rainbow bridge. They wondered if Edmund had somehow guided them to Molly.

“These two boys bring so much joy to my heart. Dagger needed a baby brother, and Mollymauk is everything we prayed for. Watching their friendship develop is pure joy!”

said LeAnne.

Obsessed with Mollymauk’s Cuteness The family couldn’t get enough of Molly’s adorable features, including his fluffy toes, beautiful brown eyes, and “immaculate ear hair that goes for days.”

The boys: green eyes & brown eyes 💚🤎

A Perfect Match Adopting Mollymauk Morrison, like Dagger, was always meant to be. The family feels complete, and their home is filled with the joyful sound of “elephant stomping” as the kitties play together.

“He’s perfect 🖤🤍🖤” LeAnne shared, expressing their deep love for their tuxedo trio.
