Farid Mansurov, a compassionate resident near Baku, has taken an extraordinary step in helping the most vulnerable dogs by creating a special shelter for them.
Farid’s shelter, named “Kind World,” is not just any dog shelter—it’s a sanctuary for dogs with disabilities or injuries, offering them love, care, and a chance at a better life. For this purpose, he dedicated his country house, which spans 20 acres, turning it into a safe haven for these dogs.
A Lifesaving Mission The journey of “Kind World” began with Farid’s rescue of a dog that had lost a paw in a car accident. This was followed by the rescue of a small stray puppy, cold and hungry on the streets. These were just the first of many. Today, the shelter is home to 350 dogs—all of whom have been saved from dire circumstances.
A Safe Haven for the Needy Farid has established clear criteria for the dogs he takes in. His shelter prioritizes those who are disabled, injured, or sick, rescuing dogs that have suffered misfortune. This includes dogs with visible injuries as well as those carrying deep psychological scars. For instance, the shelter is home to two German shepherds that Farid purchased from their previous owner. These dogs had lived in appalling conditions, confined to short chains barely half a meter long.
Healing More Than Just Wounds Farid’s mission extends beyond physical rehabilitation. His goal is to restore these dogs’ trust in humans,
a trust that has often been shattered by previous abuse or neglect. He believes that healing the emotional wounds of these animals is just as important as treating their physical ailments.
A Lesson in Compassion Farid also emphasizes the importance of teaching children to respect and love all living beings. He notes that when parents fail to instill compassion in their children, they often regret it later when their children display cruelty. On the contrary, Farid believes that children should be taught to love and care for nature, people, and animals alike.
A Call for Loving Homes Anyone moved by Farid’s story is welcome to adopt a dog from “Kind World.” The only condition is that the new owners commit to loving and caring for their new friend as they deserve. Farid’s work reminds us all of the power of compassion and the difference one person can make in the lives of those who need it most.
